I like how sea lions balance seriousness and play. Belonging to both water and land, the wild and the social, different worlds find a home within one life. Kind of like certain thinkers and poets, devoted to their ideas and ways of being while retaining – or perhaps, in a Hermann Hesse way, deepening – a kind of playful aliveness.
